Women and Girls RisingOn July 16, Mahnaz Afkhami spoke at the invite-only launch event for the book Women and Girls Rising: Progress and Resistance Around the World (Routledge Global Institute) at the Embassy of New Zealand in Washington, DC. The launch was hosted by the Roosevelt Institute and Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE). The book was developed out of the Women and Girls Rising Conference: Historical Reflections and Future Prospects hosted by the Roosevelt Institute at the September 11-12, 2014.
